Earthdawn 4E: Rogues' Gallery 27 - Crystal Raider, Troll [Alt]

This is the twenty-seventh 4E Rogues' Gallery, an ongoing series about Earthdawn Fourth Edition. Introduction and Index.

Everything contained here is the work of a fan and not associated with FASA Games.

Like other entries in the Rogues' Gallery [Alt] series, this presents NPCs in a different fashion easier to use in combat. Essentially, these are disposable opponents who don't need to have skills referenced. They are also written to be more appropriate as combat challenges for the given Circle.

This particular entry presents Crystal Raiders at various degrees of competency to be easily dropped into any game. The intent is to build this up with more such simplified entries over time.

Crystal Raider, Troll [Novice]

A highland troll who recently passed into adulthood and is eager to get into raiding. The muder, the plunder, the slavery, it's all very exciting. They may even have a copy of "Oh, the Places You'll Go" with them. Just with more murder, plunder, and slavery. These Crystal Raiders may be unwilling to retreat due to the potential slight to their honor, but may break because they're relatively new to this.

Crystal Raider, Troll [Seasoned]

The've been around, murdered some people, looted some stuff, taken some slaves. Sorry, newots. You know, had some fun. They've pretty much got this whole "Crystal Raiding" thing down. Raider life! They're just disciplined enough to retreat if it's called, but aren't likely willing to do so on their own.

Crystal Raider, Troll [Veteran]

Veterans are senior members of any raiding party and may lead their own drakkar. They've been around long enough to know you haven't seen everyting and don't know everything. Also, it's best to let adepts deal with adepts unless you have the upper hand, or are running cover so the younger crews can get away. They will retreat if necessary, but are more than willing to die a glorious death.

Crystal Raider, Troll [Elite]

The very finest non-adepts a moot has to offer. Which is a bitter pill to swallow for these trolls. No one tries harder to prove themselves, putting in the hours day in and day out. They just don't have the natural talent Sky Raider adepts do. Still, that makes them hungry and very dangerous.
