Earthdawn 4E: Rogues' Gallery 37 - Elementalist, Ork [Alt]

This is the thirty-seventh 4E Rogues' Gallery, an ongoing series about Earthdawn Fourth Edition. Introduction and Index.

Everything contained here is the work of a fan and not associated with FASA Games.

Like other entries in the Rogues' Gallery [Alt] series, this presents NPCs in a different fashion easier to use in combat. Essentially, these are disposable opponents who don't need to have skills referenced. They are also written to be more appropriate as combat challenges for the given Circle.

This particular entry presents a Seventh Circle ork Elementalist. They have a versatile suite of abilities to help control the battlefield and support their allies. Fire Spear and Fireball deal pure damage, while Earth Darts helps soften up an opponent, and Earth Spear and Fire Whip offer some control effects. Given their relative toughness, an encounter with this ork Elementalist as support is likely to be brutal. Particularly when perhaps the worst move is to directly engage them in close combat and allow them to bring their Fire Whip into play.

I thought briefly about doing a character write-up for this adept, but realized that premise runs counter to the point of these alt entries. These are more disposable NPCs who should graduate to a full character if they end up with that kind of staying power and growth. This gives a basis for that development, but should more reflect the needs of the campaign.

Earthdawn 4E: Rogues' Gallery 36 - Elementalist, Obsidiman [Alt]

This is the thirty-sixth 4E Rogues' Gallery, an ongoing series about Earthdawn Fourth Edition.

This particular entry presents a Fifth Circle obsidiman Elementalist. They're quite tough by most standards and capable of handling themselves in close combat (likely to the dismay of their opponents). This Elementalist also has a nice variety of knockdown effects between Earth Spear and Shattering Stone to go along with their juiced up Earth Darts. They don't have much range, but definitely provide useful support for their allies.

I thought briefly about doing a character write-up for this adept, but realized that premise runs counter to the point of these alt entries. These are more disposable NPCs who should graduate to a full character if they end up with that kind of staying power and growth. This gives a basis for that development, but should more reflect the needs of the campaign.

Earthdawn 4E: Rogues' Gallery 35 - Elementalist, Troll [Alt]

This is the thirty-fifth 4E Rogues' Gallery, an ongoing series about Earthdawn Fourth Edition.

This particular entry presents a Third Circle troll Elementalist. They don't have a lot of tricks at this point, but can meaningfully engage at three different distances. This may be a bit of a surprise for opponents who aren't expecting their long range attack (Liquid Arrow) and to be dangerous in close combat at this Circle.

I thought briefly about doing a character write-up for this adept, but realized that premise runs counter to the point of these alt entries. These are more disposable NPCs who should graduate to a full character if they end up with that kind of staying power and growth. This gives a basis for that development, but should more reflect the needs of the campaign.
